I think I don’t understand at all what language this tribe speaks, or its ways, or why it is led to think the way it does. I grew up in a community that had a lot of its elements but its been many decades, really. I don’t get any of it, there’s no arguing or reasoning with it. It gets votes, it has political power, vilification and condemnation are seen as affirmation and virtuous — the Devil’s minions are attacking us, and all that, and it makes “us” stronger.
