John McAfee booted from Central America

From the wire:

Guatemalan immigration officials Wednesday afternoon deported John McAfee, who is headed to Miami, according to news reports.

“I’m free, I’m going to America,” the software anti-virus pioneer said at the Guatemala City airport, the Associated Press says. He was escorted to the airport by immigration officials.

Before leaving for the airport he told Reuters, “I’ll be leaving at 3:30 (p.m.) to Miami. That was the only option I had. I can’t take a flight that stops in any other country and there are only two flights going to America today.”

“I’ve been running through jungles and rivers and oceans and I think I need to rest for a while,” is one quote.

“But I will continue my fight for human rights and the charitable work for 20 year-old girls I have become known for in Miami,” the ex-anti-virus king said.

Living Like John McAfee just lost its luster. Miami not quite the same jungle home.

The guy he’s accused of killing was another US ex-pat, wasn’t he?

Wonder how long it’ll be for a “wrongful death” lawsuit to surface here.

Yes. McAfee has apparently gone to some length to disguise his assets. I suppose the Belize government could seize his properties and businesses there.

Since he can’t be on the run from anything in Miami — unless he makes up a story about a hit squad coming after him or something — it would seem he can’t carry this forward anymore. And one would ask why he didn’t just come straight back to the USA. But that’s been John McAfee — he wants to tell a complicated story but not answer any of the simple questions.

His blog is absurd. He posts as another person, then admits it, saying he was trying to throw off authorities. . Then he wants the guy allegedly doing the graphic novel of his life to be his press agent. He never seemed to realize that the more lying and admitting to doing it freely, there would rapidly come a point when no one believed anything.

    The likely stories:

He eventually snuck out of the airport in a cab and headed to South Beach. After walking down famed Ocean Drive to the bewilderment of tourists and eating sushi, his first meal in three days, he sat down with ABC News and admitted to playing the “crazy card” and says he is broke.

“I have nothing now,” McAfee said. He claims he left everything behind in Belize, including $20 million in investments and about 15 properties. “I’ve got a pair of clothes and shoes, my friend dropped off some cash.”

Just hours earlier, the self-made millionaire was deported by Guatemalan police who forced him aboard his U.S.-bound flight away from the home and the two women he said he loves. After he arrived on South Beach, he said, a mysterious “Canadian friend” ordered another man he’d never met to drop off a wad of fresh $5 bills that McAfee later displayed to ABC News, pulling them from his coat pocket.

He says he left his fortune, including a beachfront compound,

And wants to bring his two gal pals — 20 and 17 yrs old — to Miami. The latter of which would immediately seem to be dodgy in terms of the law in dealing with minors.

I bet all of a sudden he has a beach home in Miami..
